Our independent clinical advisory board supports our doctors. It brings together dental clinicians from a cross-section of specialties to guide our decision-making and provide independent case reviews. This prestigious group is a valuable resource that also provides clinical consultation to Coast doctors. They often facilitate discussion groups such as our practitioner-in-training sessions.

Harry M. Lehrer, DMD
Dr. Lehrer is an assistant professor at the Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine, where he also serves as national board review coordinator and admissions consultant. In addition, he is the founder and chief executive officer of Comprehensive Dental Services, a company that provides expert testimony, peer reviews and independent medical exams. Dr. Lehrer was in private practice for 15 years in South Florida and serves on a number of other advisory councils and committees.
He earned honors as Educator of the Year for 2004 from the Florida Dental Association and Professor of the Year for 2004 from the Nova Southeastern University. He brings depth in the areas of dental jurisprudence and ethics, coding and insurance, implant dentistry, quality management, training and recruitment to Coast Dental. Dr. Lehrer earned his dental degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and a Masters in Education from Nova Southeastern University. He is a member of the University of Florida’s Academy 100 and the Academy of Sports Dentistry.
Gregory Becker, DMD
Dr. Becker is co-owner of Florida Dental Licensure Specialists, Inc., a service established to prepare dental graduates and dentists from other states for the Florida Dental Board examination. Dr. Becker graduated with highest honors from the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
He currently practices general dentistry in a private practice and with the State of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He served as a courtesy clinical instructor in the Department of Community Dentistry at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and is a member of both the Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Thomas Shields, II, DDS, CCHP
Dr. Shields is the director of dental services for the State of Florida Department of Corrections where he oversees 72 dentists. He is also a co-owner of Florida Dental Licensure Specialists, Inc., a service established to prepare dental graduates and dentists from other states for the Florida Dental Board examination. He taught dentistry at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and worked in private practice as well. The American Dental Association retains his consulting services on its Council of Access Prevention and Inter-professional Relations. Dr. Shields is a member of both the Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
