April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month, when we focus on educating patients about what this deadly disease is and who is at risk for it. Oral cancer is uncontrolled growth of cells. It can first appear as a tiny mouth sore or spot anywhere in your mouth but it often has no symptoms in the earliest stages.
