My visit w/Dr. DeVeaux yesterday was extraordinary! I was apprehensive b/c Dr. Moody told me that the endodontist would 'probably need to do a root canal and she would do it THROUGH your crown.' That would be a totally new experience for me, and was it ever! As Dr. DeVeaux greeted me, I realized she was a younger endodontist, so the use of newer techniques made sense. She used skills, tools & techniques she acquired in this advanced, digital age of medicine. I liked the rubber piece she used that kept my mouth open; I didn't have to think about keeping it open just right. I opened my eyes during the procedure and realized she wasn't looking in my mouth the usual way, she was looking at my tooth via a microscope-type machine. I was shocked! As I watched her work, the Wow factor set in...the wonders of modern medicine! Dr. DeVeaux is a wonderful representation of STEM at work!
Additionally, Dr. DeVeaux's manner was professional, yet personable. She spent time prior to the procedure explaining it and during it, she periodically told me what she was doing and/or why. At one point, she almost had to wake me up...NEVER had that experience in a dentist office without nitrous oxide...plus, it was for a root canal!
Today, I feel great...no pain! The swelling is going down nicely with the rinsing. Thank you, Dr. DeVeaux, for giving me new, good thoughts about endodontics care and techniques. Thank you, Coast Dental Stone Mountain, for efficient & professional, yet caring services!
