Coast Dental’s Orthodontics Campaign Wins Local and National Attention

The award-winning “Get Connected” campaign catches the attention of patients and of leaders in the advertising industry.

TAMPA, FL (March 1, 2013) – When Coast Dental launched orthodontics as part of its dentistry services in more than a dozen offices, it’s marketing team knew it needed to create an eye-catching, informative campaign that would engage the community and inspire people to transform their smile.

Coast Dental is proud to announce its “Get Connected” orthodontics campaign received a Silver ADDY® awards at the American Advertising Federation Tampa Bay awards ceremony Thursday night.  The ADDY Awards honor excellence in advertising and creative standards.  This is the second time the campaign has been honored; it won a national Graphic Design USA In-House Design winner in June 2012.

Gabe Diaz, the Associate Director of Creative Design, was the driving force behind the fun, hip campaign that shows braces are cool.  “We wanted to create something that would appeal to teenagers and adults,” Mr. Diaz said.  “The ‘Get Connected’ message works perfectly because that younger demographic wants to be connected all the time – to their friends, their gadgets, all the things that make them smile.  This is a natural extension of that.”

Mr. Diaz worked with a team including Director of Creative Development Uyen Lu, Director of Online Marketing Malic Vann, and Associate Director of Public Relations & Social Media Beth Gaddis to create strong messaging and visuals for the brand new www.CoastDental.com/Orthodontics website, billboards, print ads and office marketing collateral including posters, brochures and patient instructions. The success of the campaign has led Coast Dental to expand its orthodontics program to more than 30 practices throughout Florida and Georgia.

“The response has been very positive,” Mr. Diaz said. “We connected with people on a lot of different levels.  Our research showed younger teens like traditional braces with bright-colored bands, so we created an online application that allows players to see what their braces would look like with various color combinations.  A lot of professionals, especially teachers and managers, prefer the clear bracket braces and clear aligners, so we created a Choose Your Smile guide.  This campaign is so versatile; it works for every platform.”
