Tampa, FL (July 23, 2019) – Coast Dental & Orthodontics has announced that their Associate Vice President of HR and Recruiting, Samantha Croxford, SHRM-CP, has been nominated for HR Person of the Year – Tampa Bay. The Tampa Bay HR Person of the Year Award was developed to celebrate the Human Resources industry and to recognize those in the HR profession who exemplify outstanding achievement within our local human resources community.
Originally from the state of Maryland, Samantha Croxford earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science with Biology concentration from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2004. After moving abroad to work, Samantha would soon marry and accepted a position as a Senior Project Officer for the National Probation Service in the United Kingdom, where they educated, trained and assisted ex-offenders with transitioning into positive members of society. In 2008, she joined the Learning and Skills Improvement Services as a Project Coordinator, working with high-performing magnet and high schools to develop training curriculums. By 2010, she was a Risk Manager with the Qualifications & Curriculum Development Agency, where she started as a Project Manager, creating an online portal for the data exchange of standardized testing scores. After almost two years with QCDA, she joined the Young People’s Learning Agency as their Deputy Head of PMO, where she successfully transitioned 600 employees to a new organization due to business consolidation and acquisitions, including moves to 11 new buildings, site closings, migration to a new payroll and benefits system and the creation of a new organizational design.
In 2012, Samantha started with the Department of Education as their Deputy Head of PMO. This would be the beginning of her Recruiting and HR career path. Sam was quickly promoted to Recruitment and Contract Manager, Human Resources Team Leader, and then to the Head of Human Resources for the IT Group. It was there that Sam established herself as a leader in talent acquisition, workforce planning, compensation programs and benefits planning, change management, talent management, training and development, HR policy, employee relations, and regulatory & legal compliance. During a 3-month sabbatical, Sam and her husband traveled down the entire Eastern Coast of the United States, eventually moving to Florida in May 2016. With Sam’s extensive experience, she was quickly accepted into a nonprofit organization as Human Resources Manager. After 11-months, Samantha began a career at Greenway Health as Manager of Talent Management, eventually joining Coast Dental in March 2018 as Associate Vice President of HR and Recruiting. As a large organization of over 1000 associates, Samantha oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration and HR policy development company-wide.
