Dental Implants

At Coast Dental Poinciana, many inquiries are made about the effectiveness of dental implants as a means to replace missing teeth or stabilize dentures. Dental implants are recognized for their durability and provide a robust option for those seeking to enhance their ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently for many years ahead.

A dental implant consists of a titanium post, resembling a tiny screw in shape. This post is inserted by the dentist or a specialist into the bone beneath your gums. Over time, the bone fuses to the implant, forming a solid foundation for attaching a crown, bridge, or secured denture. Most noteworthy is the proven track record of dental implants, boasting a success rate exceeding 95%, which markedly surpasses other tooth-replacement methods.

How Dental Implants Work

At our Coast Dental office in Kissimmee, we can use dental implants to replace missing teeth in several ways.

Single Tooth Replacement

Single Tooth Replacement

Picture a dental implant as a sturdy, new foundation for a lost tooth. It integrates seamlessly with your jawbone, serving as the base for a durable, stain-resistant false tooth or crown, carefully designed to match the color of your natural teeth. While the upfront cost of a dental implant may be higher than other tooth replacement options, its long-lasting benefits are unparalleled, highlighted by an impressive success rate. Furthermore, an implant is resistant to decay, eliminates the need for root canals, and offers a feel almost identical to that of your natural teeth.

Multiple Tooth Replacement

Multiple Tooth Replacement

When facing the issue of several missing teeth, it isn’t always required to insert a separate implant for each missing tooth. Dental implants can act as strong anchors for fixed bridges. For instance, in the case of a gap caused by three consecutive missing teeth, placing two implants—one on either side of the gap—might suffice to stably hold a bridge spanning the area. This approach reduces the necessity for replacing each tooth individually. In contrast to conventional methods that rely on surrounding natural teeth for support, which can lead to wear and heighten the likelihood of decay and the need for root canals, dental implants offer an independent structural support that diminishes these concerns.

Fixed Implant-Supported Dentures

Fixed Implant-Supported Dentures

Implants provide a robust base for tailor-made dentures, intended for enduring and secure placement on either the upper or lower jaw. Typically, just four implants can anchor an entire arch of prosthetic teeth. However, extensive jawbone loss might require more implants to effectively sustain a set of 10 to 12 teeth. These sturdy, implant-supported dentures play a key role in preserving the health of the jawbone and are designed with the potential to last a lifetime.

Implant-Supported Removable Dentures

Implant-Supported Removable Dentures

Dental implants can anchor a complete denture, which serves as an entire row of prosthetic teeth. Typically, four dental implant posts are positioned by the dentist or specialist, and the denture is securely fastened to them. These implant-supported dentures stay firmly in place in the mouth, eliminating the movement or shifting that often occurs with traditional dentures. The result is greater ease during speech and meals.

What Do Dental Implants Cost?

Dental implants are often viewed as a cost-effective choice when considering the long-term benefits to your health, comfort, and overall quality of life. While the initial outlay for implants is higher than for other tooth replacement options like dentures or bridges, dental implants have a significantly longer lifespan, with many never requiring replacement.

It’s advisable to consult your dental insurance provider to determine the extent of coverage under your dental benefits. Furthermore, Coast Dental Poinciana offers partnerships with third-party financing services that could help integrate the expense of dental implants into your household budget.

The initial step is to book a consultation to find out if a dental implant is suitable for you. If you’re missing one or more teeth and are interested in exploring this option, contact our dentist in Kissimmee at (407) 396-1288 today.

This was my first time at Coast Dental. They were very thorough. Rose took copious X-rays. Marie was excellent as my hygienist. She was the first one to truly take the time to fully explain everything, show the pricing and give me options and choices and let me make my own decisions about my future plans. I saw the dentist on the TV. She was also excellent. She had access to the X-rays and the hygienist’s findings. I had just left another dental office after 11 years because of a lack of communication and because I never saw the same hygienist twice. I was assured that when I came back in May, I would indeed again be seen by Marie. I certainly hope so!

The staff was very friendly and helpful and super nice. The attention and the way they stop to explained everything was terrific, and even though it was busy the dental office, they were extremely accommodating and setup everything for the next visit. Totally recommend it and will keep coming for my regular dental visits.

I have a really big fear of dentist. This was my first real appointment. The dentist is very gentle very kind doesn’t rush through your procedures makes you feel so comfortable. The office is very warm and welcoming. I really appreciate the staff but most of all I really love my dentist, she’s very caring very understanding and I’m not wanting to leave reviews but I feel like this dental office deserved one. I have very high anxiety when it comes to the dentist and I get very scared and very nervous but she made it to where I was comfortable. I was calm and talk through everything with me and that’s what I love about this dental office.I have a really big fear of dentist. This was my first real appointment. My Experience at Coast Dental has always been a positive experience! Today was still a little slow but that’s okay. We still got work done. I had three fillings. The two ladies that worked on me today were both Amazing! I had some pain even after the Anesthesia shots so they kept giving me some so I wouldn’t feel pain. Boy was I numb. 😂 They were kind and patient with me, especially with the yelping I did before she game me more anesthesia shots. Lol😊 I absolutely LOVE my hygienist Dr. Hilario. Her assistant today was also Amazing as well. I gave them a Heart hand signal 🫶🏼 and they both giggled and said ‘right back at ya with a giggle as well’. 😂 I’ll always enjoying coming here. I always have a wonderful experience with this team!! Thank u for always making me feel welcome. 🤗
